AFFILIATED ATHLETIC CLUB ENTRIES, NOTE: Club entries are for affiliated athletic clubs only.
MATHEW MIZEN TEAM TROPHY: is for non-athletics club groups ie. rugby clubs, football clubs, boxing clubs, MMA, gym groups, netball, rounders etc. First four to score.
MOST PARTICIPATED CHARITY TEAM: any group or organisation with the most participated finishing numbers will receive, THE LESA HITCHINGS TROPHY and £250 to be donated to the charity/cause, of their choice.

Thanks also to all of the runners who are again supporting this event having entered this race in past years. You are about to take part in a race that epitomises the spirit and beauty of our famous Welsh valleys, with the spirit of the legend that is Richard Burton.
The Bryn and Cwmafan events committee, organising this event, charity number 1176360, will ensure all profits from this event will go to local charities and community organisations with details to be announced post-event. You can also donate to these worthy causes at checkout.
Parking.
We are providing a park and ride facility from the Aberafan shopping centre, a multi-story car park.
you will have to pay for parking at the multi story car park, at the ticket machine ,pay and display ,the cost of £1
we will provide a shuttle bus service, three buses will continuously pick up at the Aberafan Shopping Centre multi-story shopping car park and drop off in Cwmavon. starting at 08:00
the last bus will leave the multi-storey car park at 10:00
buses will re-commence from Heol Jiwbili, opposite the co-op from 12:15 until 16:00

There is parking in and around the village of Cwmafan; including signed, designated parking areas
1. Garage on London Row near the Britt pub, will be available until 10:00 after which access will be restricted. SA12 9BG
2. Car park behind Pizza Gatti, Ty'r-owen Row. SA12 9BG
3. Car park opposite the Coop in Waun Wen. SA12 9TB
4. Car park at Ynys Park, home of Trefelin Boys and Girls Football Club, Cwmavon Rd, Cwmafan, Port Talbot SA12 8RB (Allow 10 to 15 Mins. to walk to the registration area from here)
Otherwise please park respectfully in and around Cwmavon.
Registration.
10KM
All entrants must be 15 yrs. or older.
All registration will be done online and Race numbers will be posted to your registered address before the race,so long as the online entry is completed before 23:59 on Sunday12th October. If for any reason you will not be at your registered address before the race, please let the race organisers know as soon as possible.
Online entries for the 10k, up until 23:59 on Sunday 12th October. will have your race number your name, starting pen colour, and guaranteed t-shirt size on the front of your number. Race numbers will be posted to your address entered when registering.
Online entries will remain open until 23:59 Sunday the 12th of October or when the 3,000-entry limit is reached whichever is the sooner. There will be no new entries after this date.
Upon completion of the 10k 0nly Finisher's will receive T-shirts .These will be handed out after crossing the finish line on race day.
Participants should proceed to the relevant t-shirt desk, identified when entered and shown on the race bib.
There will be a help desk in the community centre to handle any inquiries you may have.
When entering the race you will be asked for your estimated finish time. This will be used to put you into the correct starting group. You will need to tick a box for one of the following groups.
30-40 mins, 40 - 45 mins, 45 -50 mins, 50 - 55 mins, 55 - 60 mins, 60 - 65 mins, 65 - 70 mins, 70 - 75 mins, 75 - 85 mins, 80 - 120+ mins.
Kevin Webber Mini Miler: One-Mile Fun Run
Online Entries for the Mini Miler will stay open until midnight on Sunday 26nd October, your name will be printed on your bib.
There will be no on-the-day entries for this race.
T-shirts/numbers for the Mini Miler Fun Run will be available for pick up in the Community Centre from 13:00 to 17:00 on Saturday for entrants living in the local area. Entrants travelling to the race on the day, from outside the area, can pick up race numbers and t-shirts on the day.
Race day number pick up, will be at Cwmavon Football club
For any runners under the age of 9, we advise them to be accompanied on the run by an adult (Welsh Athletics directive)
Toilets
There will be toilets available in and around Cwmafan Rugby Club. Portable Toilets will also be available outside the library and outside the soccer club. Disabled toilets will be available at the Cwmafan Community Centre.
There are also toilets in the changing rooms in Parc Siencyn Powell(the park on the main road opposite the Rugby Club).
The Welfare /Soccer Club and Waun Club will also be open.

Other Facilities
There will be refreshments and a cake sale available in the Community Centre.
The library will be offering tea/coffee and light snacks courtesy of McMillan nurses with monies raised going to their worthy charity.
Cwmafan Rugby Club will also be serving hot and cold snacks, drinks, and sweets and the bar will be open all day.
There will also be a food village outside the Cwmavon Football Club.
Pre-race Briefing
A pre-race briefing will be emailed to all participants before race day.
Race Start
The race will start outside the Cwmafan Community Centre SA12 9DF.
The 10 km race, which will start at 11:00 a.m. It has been the tradition for this race for a local celebrity to start the race. Runners will be guided towards their colour-coded categorised race pen.
Marshalling and First Aid
First Aid will be under the control of the Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, who will ensure that any issues that occur during your run will be dealt with professionally.
Marshalling will be under the control of Port Talbot Harriers.
Road traffic control will be managed by our traffic management team AMBERON, who will have sufficient section 8 trained personnel.
Runners are reminded to always keep to the left-hand side of the road unless directed by a race official.
Finish Area
Once you cross the finishing line you will be directed onto the welfare field. The 10 km runners will receive their Richard Burton race t-shirt, slate coaster, welsh cake and a bottle of water. Please ensure you join the correct queue relevant to the t-shirt size indicated on your race number bib.
There will also be a first aid station located in this area.

Most Supported Charity Group, the Lesa Hitchings Trophy, plus a £250 donation to the charity of their choice......
A £50 bonus will be paid to the fastest male under 30 Minutes and the female runner under 35 minutes. A further £50 will be paid to anyone setting a new male or female course record. Current course record holders are Ian Hamer at 29:23 and Andrea Whitcombe at 34:12.
Mathew Mizen Memorial Trophy is for non-athletics club groups ie. rugby clubs, football clubs, boxing clubs, MMA, gym groups, netball, rounders etc. The first four to score.
Runtech Kevin Webber Mini Miler Fun Run
The Kevin Webber Mini Miler Fun Run will start at 10:00 am
The race will start on the road near Cwmavon Football Club SA12 9DF.
Children entering this race will receive a T-shirt they can run in, a medal and a goody bag. The first 3 boys and the first 3 girls across the finish line will also receive trophies. These will be presented in front of the 10k start line at 10:50.
The Kevin Webber Mini Miler Fun Run presentations will take place at the start line just before the start of the 10 km run.
Post-Race Entertainment
Will take place in Cwmavon Rugby Club and Cwmavon Football Club
